Through the Franciscan Way of Life

Defining what the Franciscan Way of Life is

As a Franciscan Way of Life Participant

The Dubuque Franciscans are intentional about sharing the Franciscan spirit. One way in which this is done is through inviting people to participate in Franciscan Way of Life. Franciscan Way of Life is a two-year process which invites participants to a deeper understanding of Franciscan values and charism.

Franciscan Way of Life

The Franciscan Way of Life process is available to people of all faiths who want to learn more about Franciscan values based on the Gospels. Each session has a specific topic such as St. Francis, St. Clare, Medieval Italy, Poverty, Joy, Care for Creation, Incarnation, Peace, and Community. Other sessions include Franciscan Spirituality Today as well as the history of the Dubuque Franciscans. Participants are invited to discern incorporating these values into their daily lives. Each session allows time for prayer, discussion on the topic, and journaling.

Franciscan Way of Life sessions are currently offered either in-person or Zoom depending upon the needs of the participants.
