Sister Lene Rubly

Sister Lene Rubly was born to Ray and Amanda (Bruggeman) Rubly in Petersburg, Iowa.  She entered into the congregation in 1953 with her sister, Ann, and was received in 1954. Sister was an elementary school teacher at Holy Ghost, Dubuque; St. William, Alta Vista, Iowa; Immaculate Conception, North Washington, Iowa; St. Mary/St. Martin, Cascade, Iowa; St. Mary, Manchester, Iowa.  She also served as a pastoral minister in Georgia at Cleveland and Hiawassee; Kentucky at Franklin and Scottsville; and in Iowa at Stacyville, Meyer, McIntire, LaPorte City, Eagle Center and Blessing.  In Dubuque, sister has ministered as a foster grandparent at Fulton School; Dietary Assistant with Hills and Dales; and with the congregation as personal/finance service coordinator. “‘Instead of getting to heaven at last, I’m going all along,’” she stated, quoting Emily Dickinson.
