Sister Joan Meyer

Sister Joan Meyer was born in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, to Mathilda (Koresh) and Lester Meyer. She received her bachelor’s degree from Briar Cliff University, Sioux City, Iowa, and has master’s degrees from University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls, and St. Bonaventure (New York) University.  Sister taught in Waterloo, Iowa; Melrose Park, Illinois; and Manchester, Iowa.  She was an elementary principal in Iowa at Aston, Pocahontas, and Rickardsville/Holy Cross/Luxemburg (RHCL).  Sister also served as director of religious education in Dahlonaga/Cleveland/Blairsville, Georgia; Hazel Crest, Illinois; and Sun Prairie, Wisconsin.  She has served for the Archdiocesan offices in Chicago and Dubuque and as  a foster grandparent at Resurrection School, Dubuque.  “I am very blessed to have been a part of many people’s lives in my 70 years of ministry,” said Sister Joan.
